I posted this on the News page, but should have posted here:

Just got a used Dtek50. I have never signed up to be a beta tester and don't think I'm knowledgeable enough to be one.
Yesterday a beta update showed up on my phone and I downloaded it. Then it asked me to report any bugs. LOL. I hardly know how to use the phone, much less recognize any bugs in the update! LOL

Question is, should I have ignored it and waited for the official update? Will I also get notified of the official update. If so, what do I do?

I may be a CrackBerry "Genius" but I'm an Android "Newbie ".

The beta and official public versions are the same. The beta group typically gets the updates a little earlier, to provide feedback. So, you're good. Just accept updates as they roll in.

Thanks. Will do. I wonder if a previous owner was a beta tester. But the phone was wiped. Or was I selected at random? Not complaining!! :-)

The previous owner was probably in the beta group. If I recall correctly, registration is tracked by the device. As you say, no issue.
