If you prefer qwerty device than passport is the best option but for an all touch phone z10 is better. Don't buy STL100-1 z10. Buy STL100-2 or3 than its nice....

Z10. The Z3 was made to be cheap and affordable, therefore is also worse in quality.

You can check in the settings. I think STL-1 is for India, Indonesia and other developing countries in Asia. If you are in Singapore you can get STL-2.

STL-1 is 3G only (or 4G as they choose to name it in the US).

STL-2 and STL-3 is the 4G (US: 4G LTE) versions. Frequencies are the difference between these models.

Check with your local carriers what model they sell and support.

The Z10 has a faster processor (1.7GHz vs 1.2GHz), but the Z3 has a better GPU (Adreno 305 vs 225). All the other specs of the CPU are virtually identical, except the primary CPU cores in the Z3 are a newer version than the Z10 (Krait 200 vs regular Krait).

The Z10 has a higher resolution screen (768 x 1280 vs 540 x 960), but the Z3 screen is bigger (5.0" vs 4.2"). Both cameras are better on the Z10.

Overall, the Z10 is a better device. The Z3 is a better looking and cheaper device. They would probably both run almost the same. So it's really an equal choice either way, in my opinion. If I were you, I'd get a Z30 or a Passport.

I'd probably choose the Z3, it must have a better battery life than the Z10.

I'd choose the Z3 since I haven't tried it. Also I had ocassions of the reciever not being able to hear me on phone calls for the Z10 furthermore with Z10 you need to buy an extra battery if you ask me. I'd prefer the 2500 mah battery even if it's non-removable the Z10 is the Z10 the Z3 is a discount Z30. Only reason for going with the Z10 is if you prefer a smaller phone. But the small battery makes it no value for money.

Leaving the battery and phone size, everything is better in z10....
The price difference is only 5k but huge difference between them...

True. Let's all out personal preference aside. The Z3 was built to be inferior, and so it is.

The higher resolution and the smaller screen on the Z10 vs the Z3 makes a big difference. I'd get the z10. The screen on the Z3 looks pixelated and dim by comparison. Also the processor on the Z10 is faster, better to play games on (Disney games, Angry Birds etc)

Actually, even if u got the 3G version of the Z10, It isn't bad at all. The processor is, of course, underpowered compared to the Snapdragon one but the GPU is much better than the 225. It's just that your not getting LTE.. that's all

    Hi There everyone
I am also deciding between the Z10 and Z3 and upgrading from a BB 9380. My carrier has the Z10 with a 2880mah battery vs the Z3 with its standard battery. I have basically 2 questions:
    1. Which phone would be the better option? I know the Z3 has a slightly better Adreno 305 GPU vs 225 on the Z10, but the Z10 has a faster CPU which should make up for that.
    2. Is the Z3 hardware more optimised for OS10 bearing in mind it is a newer model or not really an issue, ie, both phones perform equally well?
    Any advice appreciated, thank you.
PS. I think Blackberry OS 10 is vastly underrated.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, take a good look at the numbers 3 and 10. BlackBerry designed these names to signify which is meant to be inferior to others, and st the same time be cheaper.

The Z10 is made to perform better than the Z3, as the Z3 was made to be weaker and cheaper than the Z10.

Also keep in mind that the Z3 has a 5-inch screen, as opposed to the Z10's 4.2-inch screen. Though, the Z3 has a very very low PPI.

Thanks, Czeckmate. So if I understand the advice properly: The Z10 with a 2880mah battery (instead of the usual 1800mah) would be the better option. I am not all that worried about missing out on a 5 inch screen, especially if PPI on the Z10 4.2 inch screen is better and clearer.
    Thanks again.

The Z3 has less sensors than the Z10, only 1GB Ram instead of 2 and can therefore run only 4 apps in active frames.

As far as I remember the price should be identical.

Technically there is no reason to buy the Z3 if you can get the Z10.

The battery life is the only point where I would make the differentiation.

You can buy a spare battery for the Z10 and get the same life as on the Z3. If this option is nothing for you, I would get the Z3, since it is frustrating to have a dead phone.
