I got the Babylon free translator from Amazon Appstore. Amazing translator, but may be the culprit for a browser full of AdChoices ads. Any one using any of the translators from BB World? Looking up words/terms in multi-language dictionaries is more important to me than audio translation. Thanks.

    Hey Stevie,

I just called to say "I love you" but I needed a translator app to do so since I don't speak Dutch.

I used to use the Navita Translator app, but recently it stopped working. I've just installed FancyTran and it's working well.

    Thanks for posting the tip!

FancyTran works for me. And it's free. It looks a lot like the former app "Navita" which recently stopped working.

I also just installed FancyTran since Navita quit working. Looks good and works fine for me.
Would be nice to have translation option in the BlackBerry Travel app, with the currency converter, weather and clocks.

I use vocabuilder which is focused on vocabulary building but also contains a translate tab for a selected language.

Anybody know why Navita stopped working?

    I have a theory.

    Ahem, ahem.

The theory which is mine... is mine.

    Ahem, ahem, ahem.

    This is my theory:

"The Navita translator developer sold his app/rights to the owners of "FancyTran". The new owners disabled Navita and "repackaged" the app and renamed it. Notice the great similarities between Navita Translator and FancyTran. The new owners wish to monetize their investment so they have taken the voice output of Navita (which was free) and now sell that as a premium service."

    That is my theory.

    And it is mine.

I also use Vocabuilder which is also offline, if purchased but it is not comprehensive as of now.

    Thanks, Thor & Thomas,

I thought I would make this post an homage to Monty Python's skit featuring A. Elk.
