On the other day, I tried to call one of my friend on BBM. I was not on wifi, but mobile data was on and up and I had just used Wechat to make a call over mobile data. But BBM did not give me a call option at all during the conversation. I checked the settings and toggled the option to allow BBM voice calls on mobile data. I tried again to call over BBM but it just said My carrier does not support BBM calls? Why would a carrier support this while all other IM apps work just fine with calling. When I checked with my carrier ( Airtel India), they don't even know what it is.
    Btw, it's not on contract.

Any Ideas how make BBM calls work on mobile data?

On my phone there's an option to allow voice calls and video calls over mobile networks under settings, make sure it's on.

I already tried that and in fact only then the app displayed that message.I did not even get a call icon before doing that.

I know it said your carrier does not support them, but maybe your friend wasn't properly on wifi?
