    I came across this when I took the BlackBerry escreens...is it possible to increase clockspeed or to use single core and increase battery life? Has anyone tried it..?and what are it's advantages?
    I've heard that there are chances that the phone may get bricked...so I havint tried it till now...
    Plus, I'm using blackberry classic which had 1.5ghz processor, but it shous 1728mhz clockspeed option...y is that?
    * I don't knw much bout escreens...I'm just curious...
    If anyone has tried it, plz repli..

    what i can tell you is your cpu can definitely handle more clock speed than its factory value. In shorts. Yes you can overclock it to 1.7ghz if its mentioned and can work too. But it will drain your battery faster may cause heating problem.. but it wont brick your phone... so chill.

    Whoa, how do you get to this screen? So it's essentially possible to overclock the classic?

    Quick warning, change at your own peril, it's a hidden screen for a reason

    And if you have to ask what it is and have heard it isn't a good idea, it just might be prudent to stay out. Just saying.

    I believe the changes do not stick. If you change it, then reboot your device, I have heard that it is possible for it to go back to 1.5 GHz. Voltage is also a concern here so it is best to just leave it alone.

    I can't recommend going into the escreens unless one knows exactly what they're doing.
