Hi. Found a Torch9800 in very good condition at a yard sale. No battery, SIM card or SD card in it so unable to tell if it works. Are any apps for this still available and can still run ok? If not I'm willing to sell it to some BB collector. Thanks for the replies.

I'm sure it would work as the device goes, you would have to find out if it's CDMA or GSM (carrier support), and then you would have a working phone.
As to apps, yeah, you can find them for BBOS 7? I believe, but don't expect any updates, or Andyroid apps to work (no Andieroid sandbox to play in).
So yes, it would be viable as a daily driver, and if it losted, no real pain, just the data on the device, no big money.

BBOS6 it has. I'm running one and my son as well. So phone and sms ok. youtube, sort of okay. Browsing the web in general, mostly it is too slow and lack memory to have good browsing. Some pages just crash straight away.

However if the thing has a aluminium looking back, it is a 9810. 9810 has os 7, bit faster processor and more memory. Kinda more usable.

Simple dude! Buy a battery, insert a sim card, fire up the unit. Then you will know if it works or not.
