My BB Passport powers up, loads the OS, and even receives phone calls. However that is where the normal functions stop.

I can't open anything except for the dial pad. Anything else and it acts as if it is about to open then crashes and vanishes, returning the the home view.

Another example is I have a missed call (or anything else in the HUB), I slide to delete it, it vanishes leaving a blank spot without "filling in" the empty space. Phone goes into standby and that deleted call is back there.

I downloaded BB Link to try and do a manual reformat of the OS which kept crashing until I renamed my iTunesPrefs file to iTunesPrefs.old

Now when I plug in my BB Passport, it starts charging from the USB port but nothing else.. BB Link doesn't detect it and when I go into my port settings it just shows "Unknown Device". I hit auto download drivers for windows, it doesn't find any. BB Link tells me I have the latest drivers in the software..

Computer is running Windows 7 Pro 64.

    Help!

In the first instance I suggest you try a 32 second re boot. So, hold down the power key and the volume down key for 32 seconds. Time it.

It's the equivalent of a battery pull.

Post back how it goes after that 😀

I held down both the power key and volume down key for 32 seconds and unfortunately once the phone turned back on, the issue remained.
