I have also tried holding the power button down for more than 32 seconds. It didn't seem to make a difference. I'm wondering if this has something to do with the update I received a couple days ago.

Have you tried re-registering your fingerprint?

When I place my finger on the sensor, it says "Fingerprint hardware unavailable"

I'm guessing at this point, that re-registering my fingerprint won't work.

The next best thing I have to offer is s factory reset.

Oddly, I was just preparing for a factory reset and install of the new update (which I haven't done yet) and I'm having the same issue with the fingerprint malfunction...

u know, a friend of mine has a bb keyone and has experienced the same issue, i also own a keyone and i hope that this doesnt happen to me, if so, would be cool to know what to do to fix it,maybe it should be reported to blackberry, the keyone already came not so good at the beginning, with the screen comming out..

I saw in a movie once that best way to reset your fingerprints is to dip your finger tips into acid to burn off your tips and prints.

There is a less painful way (maybe) but it involves the ingestion of massive quantities of pineapple.

Before I go that route, I'd like to see if blackberry releases any sort of fix. I've been wanting to upgrade to a Key2 anyway. I've just been waiting for the Red Editon to become available in my area.
