BB Desktop Manager
My BB 9650 died a watery death. It was backed up on BB Desktop Manager version 2.4.0 recently. I was able to retrieve all contacts from Verizon Backup Assistant, but that's it so far. I cannot extract any backed up data from Desktop Manager it seems without a working device connected to the computer, or can I? That's the first question. Second question, if I buy a used 9650 with clean ESN, on Ebay, can I restore my old Blackberry data to it?

As you your second question, yes you can. Not sure about the first part, I don't remember.

There are programs available which can extract the information from BlackBerry Desktop Software. I know of none by name but if you do a search for ".bbb reader" or ".ipd reader" you should find what you're looking for. BlackBerry Desktop Software writes the backup files to a .bbb or .ipd file so if you search for either of those readers, you should find software that can extract it.
I hope that helps you. :)
