    Cost and space savings for the manufacturer, plus built in "OEM servicing only" and predictable EOL.
    For weather/environment resistant devices, less parts requiring seals.

    That said, even the most complex non-removable battery devices can have the battery swapped out if you have the tools and skill set.

    Plus there's quick charge now which can mostly eliminate the need for a removable.
