can i back up my contacts as a .txt or something.

i'm backing up via the blackberry desktop, but what if my 'puter spontaneously explodes (it's actually oft to do).

something i can keep safe on my external HD?

I tend to backup via my outlook.com account or you can check this app out.

Check out Backup Pro in BlackBerry World! You can find it at http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/50717887

Or, use ContactsImEx. This app will let you backup your contacts to a .csv file, which you can open with Excel on your PC. I usually move the backup file to my Box.com account, so I won't lose it.

I use Hotmail but ContactsImEx is the best and it's free. It'll import and export contacts as an .csv (Excel) file. You can find it at http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/37102894

Well that makes a big difference. There is not any easy way to backup your contacts on the Curve other than using desktop manager and BB Protect, depending on your OS, possibly 5.0? The best I can offer is that you'll have to search BB World for an app if you do not already have something like Backup Assistant from Verizon, for instance. There are other other ways to store contact #'s to your SD card or SIM card but I don't remember and I don't think that's what you want. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
