App to Confirm if msg or email has been opened? ul

I meant to say is these a setting or an app that will Lmk if my email or text to someone has been opened? It seems like I had a function like that on my email in a pr opus device but not sure how I got it or how to find. It of there is a setting that will confirm if my sent msg and been received or opened?
