Hi folks! So has anyone actually downloaded and used apps from apk4fun. com? Is it a legit site, or some sort of a scam?

There are only a handful of android repositories that I trust - apk4fun isn't one of them.
apkmirror
f-droid
xposed
xda labs

Anything outside of these channels, or from an unknown or untrusted Dev is at your own risk.

I doubt many of the developers placed their apps on that site.

At this point, it's all about trust and how bad you want an app. And is there no way of obtaining an app from a more trusted source - Google Play or Amazon.

I would be inclined to toss in the Aptoide site as being reasonably safe as long as the "Green Shield trusted stamp" apps are chosen. F-droid is fork of Aptoide, I believe and is very similar . As with ANY of these stores there are no 100% guarantees of course, so the user needs to exercise some caution. Just my opinion, and I agree with Mecca El's list PLUS Aptoide.

Well, I guess I'm gonna go for one of the sites you mentioned. I never actually tried running google play. Might consider doing so in the near future though. Anyways, thank you all for replying!
