Hi,

I have been using some apk apps downloaded through snap. I don't think they are anyway close to native BlackBerry 10 apps. I am just wondering how would they work if I do it old school? Would converted .bar files perform better? What's your take on it? Has anyone tried this recently? Any comparative analysis?

No.
.bar files are "BlackBerry ARchives". They are actually just a renamed .zip file.

.bar files may contain either a native BlackBerry 10 app or an Android app.

Only difference is when installing the app: The .apk file will show the additional "warning" screen before installing the app.

The app will perform exactly the same so don't waste your time converting it unless you need to submit it to BlackBerry World.
