The snap file is not apk but bar so you have to sideloaded through your pc ;)

Exactly, use the Chrome extension on a windows computer.

Apart from downloading the snap Apk app is thr any other one I can download directly to my BlackBerry 10 that would also work

To get access to Google Play Store there is either SNAP (you need to sideload this with help of desktop PC, as mentioned before) or the "Cobalt-solution". The latter option provides much more features and is preferred solution.
Start here, read first post instructions and the FAQ and take a look at the other Cobalt-threads indicated:

As noted by someone else above you, Snap is not an apk app. It is a .bar file, which would need to be sideloaded from your computer onto your phone.
If uncomfortable or unable to do that, you can go through easy steps found in the link from above post for cobalt's Google Play Store or use the Amazon Appstore.
All three of these sources will enable you to download Android apk files directly to your phone.

I downloaded the amazon app on my BlackBerry 10 and tried to download something from there but it kept telling me to turn on unknown sources in my phone security settings. Have gone to my phone security setting but couldn't find it,please how do I turn it on?

Go to Settings, App Manager, Installing Apps. Toggle on "Allow Apps from Other Sources to be Installed". I'd also suggest you toggle on the "inspect" option.
If you want Apk for free i suggest you to download "blackmart" or "aptoide". Snap didnt work well for me.
