Conite - thks, that is what I thought. I probably know the answer to this, but you are the best resource - is it possible to get an app that requires 5.01 to run on BBOS 10

If it fundamentally requires 5.x, no.

Maybe you saved yourself some grief. The reviews are terrible for that app.

The Mate 9 is not available yet. The new BB offerings are too small of screen.

    Isn't dtek60 a 5.5" screen? What's Mate 9, 5.7"?

Mate 9 is 5.9", but only HD. Much lower dpi than the DTEK60. 373 vs 574dpi.

The reviews meantion that, but are saying the screen still looks good. DTEK60 screen is too small. Make a larger version I would be there. The Passport has spoiled me

The DTEK60 screen is still 30% bigger than the Passport in screen area.

You do realize that the DTEK60 is QUAD HD or 2k while the M9 is only HD...

    FULL HD

This one is the higher step of smartphone standard display. The definition of Full HD is 1920 x 1280 pixels. With the smartphone around 5 inches, the pixels will be 441 ppi. Once again, pixels will be adjusted basing on the screen size. The pixel will spread out more on a larger screen. Similarly, it will squish on smaller screen.

QHD / Quad HD or 2K

QHD is the abbriviation of Quad HD. Its measurement is 2560 x 1440 pixels. That is the reason why it called 2K, which measured over 2,000 pixels. Those resolution often defined by its mesuarement. Therefore, in the same way, HD will come sometimes called 720p, and Full HD called 1,080p. Then, a 5.5 inches QHD display has a pixel density of 538 ppi. For instance, 5.5 inches LG phablet form is G3 with 1440 x 2560 a resolution hit the same pixel density of 534 ppi.

You guys are arguing over 0.2 of an inch with is just over 5 mm...
    It's a discussion - not an argument. And it's 5.9" vs 5.5".

I posted about the dpi in post#13 above.

For my business, I often am reading documents on my phone as well as looking dwgs and marking them up. The 1:1 screen works well for me. Would like to see 4:3 at least. The Mate has a high screen ratio. Too bad others would not do the same. It is bad enough moving to Android. Hate using my wife's phone. Hard to teach an old geek new tricks.

The Mate 9 is still standard 16:9 ratio.

The higher dpi of the DTEK60 will actually be of greater benefit than the larger screen of the Mate 9 for drawings. Just hold it landscape.

I know ---- I plan on running my Passport for a while yet, but apps are making a it hard. Used to say, give me a good browser, but the last update is crashing much more and seem slower. Am having better luck with Android Firefox.

Also rely on Blend a lot, which is going to complicate the switch.
