I want to delete the Amazon app store. I don't use it don't need it and hate the way it controls my settings. Some apps I run insist I log in to Amazon app store first. I thought this type of bull**** control was Apples speciality, not BlackBerry. Too gimmicky for me. Any suggestions anyone?

Commercial reasons to preserve the app and secure it from user deletion. Well, it is understandable in the given circumstance for BlackBerry.

There so reasonable apps on Amazon. I tried a few dozen of their apps and found a very nice analog clock. It wouldn't run but it was right twice a day. For Amazon that's reasonable.

I think you have to download the updated version as an apk and install it
Then you'll get the option to delete it
