Address Book - restored on computer or another non-BB device?

Hi!

I looked through the forum (hope don't double the case) and couldn't find the answer for my question.
I synchronised my address book via BB Protect. It is stuck on BB server.
I don't plan to buy another BB device - is there any possibility to restore my contacts on a PC, Android or so? Maby any soft that simulates being BB device... I don't know... :-) I lost over 300 business contacts and I'm kinda desperate...
What if my friend borrows me his BB mobile just to restore my address book? Does he loose his contacts then?

It depends on what OS you are running. If you have os7 and MS Outlook on your pc then chances are your contacts are in your address book in Outlook.
When my mom switched from BlackBerry to iPhone, AT&T extracted and imported in the store.


If you are on OS10 I believe you can get ContactX from bbw and use it to export into a file that is importable into Outlook.com or Google.

Then your contacts are on a cloud and accessible from any device.

If you use your buddy's phone, it would wipe his. And depending on his OS as to whether he can restore back from his own backup file.

Seems safer for you both for you to invest the $2.99 use ContactX or other contact extraction or get your carrier to do it.
