I feel like a tool asking this, but where is the option to scan someone's barcode to add them to BBM?
I have searched everywhere in the app and can't seem to figure it out.
It's like the option is not available. Just the tap with NFC is!
Very frustrating.
I searched for an answer without luck.
Please help.

Swipe down from the bbm app, in the middle there will be scan to invite, click on it, you can scan a barcode

Hey OP
there is another thread on this, haven't found a solution yet as far as I know.
But out of interest, in BBWORLD when you swipe down, do you still have the option to scan a bar code there?
If you do, you could add it that way, I know it's not ideal though

As far as bbw goes, the option to scan is still there.

I saw that.
Scanning through that method should work, until a more permanent fix comes along at least.
The other option is to just reload a BBM bar or even the OS

That seemed to work thru bbw. I only have my wife's phone here to test. As soon as I scanned it, it went to our bbm conversation.
It might be a work around until an update comes out.

When you are in the invite tab click on invite to bbm. Then tap to make the keyboard go away. Is there a barcode on the bottom now? Tap it and you can scan. Tap again to show your barcode. I have a Q10 so it just shows up. Hopefully its hidden below your keyboard.

Invite BBM > the invite screen will appear and the focus will be on the recipient of the invitation. Pull down the keyboard. You will see the 'Scan to invite'...

Sorry for duplicating the answer. Didn't read until the last post.
That only shows up as show barcode on the z10. There seems to be an issue with a few BlackBerry's out there.
Hopefully they fix soon.
