No, you should first restore your phone to factory settings and then reload your backup

I'm not sure if I'm following this correctly but if you are asking if your BlackBerry ID will restore to its previous state prior to your password change, no, the backup will not revert it, only device settings and files.

hmm. just to clear this up. i only just change only the screen name password and the security password or forgot password question/answer.
    not the email/username.

You mean if the backup was done under a different BlackBerry ID as the one you have now, will attempt to restore data work?

    Z10 STL100-1, OS 10.2.1.3175
    no xd this for example

i backup my device using the blackberry id info

    1. [email protected] is username
    2. screen name is 1
3 for password forgotten. question is 1 answer 1

now i did backup my device using that bb id info.

now i did an update the bbid

    1. [email protected] is username
    2. screen name is 2
3 for password forgotten. question is 2 answer 2

notice only 1 is not change the username.

now i'll restore my backup data

the question is does it restore the not updated bbid or still the same. ?

follow up question to does it still accept my back up after i updte my bbid.

    sorry for bad english.

There is some confusion on this. BlackBerry ID, as far as I know, is not affected by backups.

I don't quite understand it. Anyway, you are asking if you will restore your old backup, will the BlackBerry ID data also go back to its old state, right? The answer is no.

OK, I think I understand. BlackBerry ID have stayed the same but you have a backup under one password and you now have changed the password on your phone. Now you want to restore that backup. Restoring the backup to the same device is possible. The restoration process does not change the password you have registered for your device ID. The last password is the one that is active, not the first password.

hmmm wait so it does still accept my bbid that i updated it (except for my username.)

    because bblink requires bbid

Like Ron said: try it. As long as the BlackBerry ID stays the same.

    If your worried.

Take a backup if your phone now - this is your fail safe.

Reload your old backup. Any issues, and you can reload the new backup.

To be clear : Backups only care about your BlackBerry ID. You will still be using that ID afterward. And purchases under that ID will still work as normal.

To explain : the full name you edit - that one doesn't matter to anything except for how your reviews appear in appworld. Passwords it only cares about the current password as it is stored and locked in blackberry servers against your blackberry ID. Same with the security question.

    Your fine.
