    I am in France and as far I know the update has not been released yet anywhere in Europe by any carrier. I am personally convinced I won't live to see it. I have a simple question: is it concevable that some carriers just never release the update of an OS that is all but dead?

    Yep. You're really better off just loading up the autoloaders.
