10.2.1.2941 Mx player not detecting sd external

I just updated my bb10 to 10.2.1.2941 and my Mx player (android) won't detect my external sd card at all. It's weird because on my other android apps I downloaded, shows my external sd card. The only way I can get it to work is by going on the default video player and open it as Mx player but even that takes so long to load or even show up at all.

I found out that the sd card for Mx player was stored in /accounts/1000/removable/sdcard but won't work even when directed to that location. I know that's not the right place to be looking anyway. What do I do so I can get the Mx player to detect my external sd card?

I find that many android apps do not recognize my card.
Switch music players and find one that does.
