    Microsoft? Definitely not.

DELL or IBM is more probable.

Dell just gobbled up EMC, or is about to...
    They won't byte...

    BlackBerry and Cisco, maybe?

Cisco has tried consumer products a couple of times and they didn't work out, and they've publicly said that they don't plan to get involved with consumer products again. So, in the very, very unlikely even that Cisco bought BB, any products that they released would be totally focused on enterprise needs, and probably wouldn't be anything consumers (i.e., most CB users) would want, especially not at the price they'd be likely to sell them for.

That's why. I guess BlackBerry's focus is still enterprise, despite the Android efforts and the Priv's apparent consumer appeal.... :-)

Cisco got a licenced QNX OS source code, and developed its own QNX-based OS. They didn't buy QNX (the company). They won't buy BlackBerry.

Microsoft is a poisoned chalice. They absorb other companies and turn them into carcasses whilst exploiting any patents and technologies they acquire.
BlackBerry has done the same with almost all of the acquisitions that they made when making BB10

In fact, almost every big company does this

Can't see MS wanting any more than patents. BlackBerry would disappear.

Perhaps if they instead partner with another company in the IoT, secure communications space... Cisco comes to mind.

Microsoft combines WP with the Superior BB10 would be a force to be reckoned with. BN10 is the most organized OS ever created. And the smartest of them all.

Microsoft has been at creating a smartphone for almost a decade now (WM 5.1)...and billions of dollars later they are still struggling.

BlackBerry can struggle on their own just fine.

    Passing on MS
