No, Mike was a great engineer but lousy CEO. It would be like getting Wozniak to run Apple.
Moved to a more appropriate forum.
Mike? I'd rather have Jim.

Is he still trying to buy a hockey team?
New blood.

New blood, someone who has no regard for BlackBerrys' past, only a vision for the future.
i think the person at the helm of affairs should have mix of product innovation and financial acumen
From what I'm reading today, it was Jim who was the true visionary and Thor and Mike were the reason we didn't have cross platform BBM 3 years ago. I wonder where we would be today if that would have happened like Jim wanted?

I thought Mike was opposed to BB10. So if you want them to can the new OS and phones. . .

Hello? Steve Wozniak was an innovator, wtf
Oh and I believe we need a new CEO, who really does want the company to excel and not just a money hungry *****.
Agreed. The article in the Globe and Mail today paints the same picture.
You hit the nail on the head. Especially in light of the recent article by the Globe and Mail, its become increasingly clear that Mike L, while technically brilliant, didn't "get it" as far as consumers are concerned. And Jim B as bombastic as he was (and the **** of many jokes), may have actually been on the right track after all as far as evolving the company was concerned.
Engineers rarely make good CEOs.

Bring Jim Back.
I think Thor is the best thing that happens to blackberry. It is making the phone relevant. But he took it over in a bad state it's going to take time for him to turn it around.
New.

New face but have mike as an engineer for sure

At this point just close the deal and then Mr Watsa can do what he wants.

New guy though balsillie would be on my list as well with a major increase in pay.
Posted via CB10
Umm no! Mike L was against bringing BBM cross platform and he was also against BB10!!! Not exactly visionary.

Alec Saunders would be my first choice, he's sharp, articulate but most of all he has that entrepreneurship mind that Lazaridis and Heins lacks to go forward, he's not afraid to take risks and he's the one responsible to move developers interest in the platform.

Sorry - did you say Alec Saunders? I don't know him so this isn't personal, but developers write apps. Apps are missing. No excuses.
Apps are the single biggest failure in the BB "ecosystem".
NOT the right guy.
They should get Steve Ballmer since he's retiring. LOL!

Especially since Alec "S4BB" Saunders and entrepreneurialism go together like bacon and eggs
