Alright yes, I'm a BlackBerry fan and I, like many others on this site, don't want to see BlackBerry disappear. For many of us BlackBerry has been our go to smartphone for many years now. We don't want to live in a World dominated by iOS and Android, so we continue to use our trusty BlackBerry. It serves our needs better than any other device out there and it just gets us. We deal with the media scrutiny, the jeers of friends and family, the bashing and unrelenting uncertainty. Why do we do this? Well, we do this because we have a connection to the phones that are unlike anything else we've had with other smartphones. Other smartphones were just that, a smartphone, but a BlackBerry was always so much more than that. Perhaps back in the day it was the physical keyboard that got us hooked and created a deeper connection between us and our device or maybe it was something else. As time went on and technology changed to glass and touchscreens that connection was still there. Those damn BlackBerry's just sucked us in and had this power over us that was unlike anything else we've ever experienced. We may have tolerated other phones, but we didn't love using them like we loved our BlackBerry's.

I'm not a marketing specialist, but I do know that BlackBerry needs to connect with their target audience much better than it currently is. BlackBerry needs to show how BB10 phones can improve their customers lives. Market the strengths of the new OS rather than just showing a non-sensicle series of people doing things that don't connect to people at all.

I'd like to see more comedy tied with real world scenarios. What I'd really like to see is the BlackBerry Family. Now this may have to wait until the Z30/A10 comes out but show a family with each family member using a BlackBerry 10 phone. The business man dad with his Z30, the mom with a Z10, teenage daughter with a Q10 and her little brother with a Q5. Show them doing day to day things and how the phone makes their life better. Show the dad going to a meeting and looking up LinkedIn information which is being streamed in about his meetings attendees. The mom in line at Starbucks holding a baby or something while typing out a message single handedly. Have the daughter taking pics at some party and getting the perfect shot while her brother is able to keep in contact with all his friends from the Hub. Portray them as the model family and what everyone would want but make them relatable at the same time. Maybe something similar to Modern Family and create a series of commercials that focus on one family member per commercial. Have them sit down talking as it cuts to a scene that happened earlier that day/week. Throw some comedy in and give just enough where you want to know more. Have a link that brings the customer to a website and shows a longer more in depth cut. Make the commercials like a very small mini series where people can relate and get drawn in.

People need to be shown the benefits of BlackBerry. Highlight the unique features and talk about how BlackBerry is about efficiency, security and an ever evolving platform that's there for the customer.

Now obviously a few major apps would really help seal the deal here. Once those top 5-10 major apps are out of the way people will really be able to look at what BB10 can offer them.

The other thing BlackBerry should do is say its building the phone that the people want. Admit that the company messed up, but now it's putting their customers needs and wants first and it won't stop until they get it done right. That it's going to take time, but it won't stop listening and will add things in that people really want.

Draw the customer in with relatability and humour, show them real world advantages and tell the customer it's building the phone for them.

I honestly don't know if it would work, but it has to be better than the current marketing campaign.

Thanks for reading my late night ramble.

I like your idea much more than the Super Bowl ad.

Only thing I'd change is I'd give the Mom a Q and the kids would use Z10s. A Z is more geared towards media consumption.

A series of commercials featuring the BlackBerry family....I like it.

I recently took a couple of Z10 surveys that were for T-Mobile. I mentioned something like this under the marketing sections. Nothing like the attention to detail that you post here, but I especially mentioned how BBM Is incredible for family situation. We are a family of 4, all using Z10's. Create a family group, check on the kids through video chat, bbm voip has even saved me when in an area with no signal. I think you are onto something with this post and you should use BlackBerry's sugestion box email address and submit your idea.

Wholeheartedly agree! Sounds great. Except, leave out the paragraph about admitting they messed up. Not a good idea at this stage of the game.
