I find most people today accept that BlackBerry isn't known for having good cameras, speakers, screens etc.

Does nobody remember that BlackBerry used to ship teaser videos to show off the speakers. The z30 and passport had amazing sound as well.

Starting with the 8900, while not the best, BlackBerry cameras - the 3.2 on the curve 8900, bold 9700 and torch 9800 followed by the 5.0 af of the bold 9780, and the 9810, 9850/60 torchs were amazing imo. The PRIV camera isnt bad either, night shots seems to turn out pretty good with hdr on.
The bold 9900 camera was bad 5.0mp EDOF (no af), as was the bold 9000s 2.0mp shooter. I never did like the camera on any of my bb10 phones, too slow.

If BlackBerry mobile plans to release a lower end key2, I think they should also release a higher end one as well.

Key2 lite (636 instead of 660, 32gb? Plastic housing with same dimensions? 100 less?)
    Key2 regular
Key2 bold (regular + 100$ + stereo speakers + ois camera + double storage + dual sim + on screen navigation buttons)

Or do something similar for the key3. That is, release a key3 curve, a key3 and a key3 bold

Personally, I see the lite series being for deployment etc, because I wouldn't buy a lower end key2 for personal use. I would, however, like to see bold series

The KEY² will test the $649 market. If it has traction, maybe they'll go higher still next year - provided they still produce a cheaper alternative too.

The KEY² Lite packs a 636 SoC, and also has dual cameras.

Edited my post to include the 636
I don't want a "high end" device. Meaning, I'm not willing to sacrifice too much battery for bleeding edge speeds or power burning screens. I just want the "BOLD" experience that BlackBerry ( not BlackBerry mobile ) fumbled.
The key2 already has a quality camera, just needs ois, the screen resolution isnt bad just maybe use a better panel. And stereo speakers like the passport, z30, 9900, 9000.

As I wrote above, the metrics garnered from the KEY² will show if a further bump to a $749 price point would have any possible traction for the following year.

I think they will always need something in the $499 to $549 price range. The question is, what is the best specs/price combo for the higher unit.
