BlackBerry has peddled security that was supposed to be good but seems to be a thing of the past with stronger players unable to thwart those with the drive & the money to get in... now their closet full of security claims & purchased entities has fallen with a thump orchestrated by the apple folderol... apple will just keep selling... BlackBerry may bite the dust over this their remaining dozens of customers buying into the alleged secure OS & ecosystem they have abandoned... the bell tolls

Apple can't buy BlackBerry because Chen is a deep cover CIA operative and all BlackBerry phones already have backdoors built in.

Buying BlackBerry will not make apple more secure.
That's not the way it works.
You can't imagine you're secure because of a particular technology.
What makes BlackBerry slightly different (especially with BBOS/BB10) is that security has been built in from the lowest layer. What the others are doing is adding secure layers on top of a weak (security-wise) system and close the doors as they appear.

In a certain way (because they've customized the kernel and added physical security) BlackBerry has to follow the same process with their android devices but at least, they do it at a very high pace while lazy market leaders wait for months before patching a vulnerability that has been exposed to the public (I don't even mention the time frame since they have been reported privately).
So, that's a mix : a secure grounded system plus a strong security culture ... coul we possibly imagine an apple BB10 powered device ? nah ...

Only possible scenario (we've seen this for others in tech) : buy it to kill it.
No more opponent, no solution but ... that's dirty business 101.

Hilarious. BlackBerry way back gave into the governments. I dislike iOS as a user, but I'd guess it is more secure than BlackBerry is now.
