    Main reason BlackBerry bought Secsmart and offers it as an add on feature for BES users to provide voice and text encryption.

    It has been discussed many times here.... BBM without BES is accessible to experienced hackers as it uses a single key. But it is more secure than plain SMS/MMS. But less so than some other IM apps.

    A BlackBerry can offer the best security available... you just have to be willing to pay for it. BBM Protected, BES12, Secusmart....
