I just read that BlackBerry plans to cut its op costs by 50 percent by the first quarter of 2015.... that's over a year away, so do they plan on staying a company until then? why would they plan on doing something way down the road if they were going to sell themselves to another company??
I hope this is right cause that means BlackBerry will remain BlackBerry!

They are going private. I've always said that and I'm sticking to it.

Still said they are looking at strategic alternatives. One of which is a sale. Not the only option could still be a partnership etc.

Strategic alternatives doesn't mean partnership. In finance it almost always means a change in ownership, break-up, abandonment of business lines.

Going private would be for the best, then they wouldn't have to release bad news days after a product launch. But it also likely means they would likely be free to carve up the company ending blackberry as we know it.
