Seeing as there seems to be endless amounts of us in here with worldy advice on how BlackBerry made a mess of everything, myself included, Let's chat about what does BlackBerry need to do to turn around. If you were CEO what would your short and long term plan be. Maybe someone at BlackBerry will get some great inspiration from something posted , you never know
How do you fix and rebirth BlackBerry just like hyundai and other companies have done? Areas of thought...
    - 2 yr, 5 year and 10 year goals
    - marketing, which direction? Business? Social? Security? Mix of all?
    - Spokespersons, keep in mind we need to appeal to all ages, not just kids, 40 somethings or seniors
    - bbm x platform dev, where to go, how to get apple people to actually use it
    - bb10 dev. Stay BlackBerry or go cross manufacturer like android and give the OS to them
    - hardware, where to go, how to be out front
    - support for loyalist customers new and old
    - product and os development, releasing on time and complete

I'm sure there is much I have missed

How about all members of Crackberry chip in and buy BlackBerry. It would be an MBO (Member Buy Out)

The post was moved to armchair CEO thread as was mentioned . I didn't see this forum on my CB app otherwise would have done so right away. . Glad now it's in the right spot.

Now that I see this forum my post is obviously not so meaningful. But fire away if you like!
Maybe we just need to bring back the trackwheel

Hey the thumb wheel was revolutionary. My first 7290 had that I think.

Loved that thumb wheel. When my Z10 bricked a month ago I needed a quick phone. 9900 or 8700? I rocked the 8700 with the thumb wheel for the day and it was awesome. That phone is a tank

I don't see how Blackberry can stay in the hardware business. If the carriers aren't willing to make your smartphone its flagship then you're done. If the developers aren't willing to invest in porting to a number 4 platform then you're done. If people aren't willing to let their employer determine which smartphone they use then you're done. If retailers aren't willing to push your phone then you're done.

If your entire brand value basically boils down to a keyboard then you can still sell some of those.

We would need 3 million people to put in 1000 dollars to raise 3 billion for the theoretical value of BlackBerry. Or, 300,000 people put up 10 grand each.

Hmmm, I'm already part of the 300,000 people. Well, I was. Now I'm almost part. So we need about $750 million to be able by committee/proxy to make some difference. Ok it was fun to dream about.
