So Yahoo! Messenger has been updated for the iPhone and supports video
chat over 3G on the iPhone 4. The interesting thing about this is that it doesn't
have to be iPhone to iPhone such as FaceTime. Someone can be using a
webcam on their computer and you can still do video. Same goes for other
phones so it will work platform to platform (that is when other phones have
the app updated).

edit: yes it works over 3G! probably not as good as facetime but it'll work with those who dont have an iphone/itouch

I was really surprised that this came from Yahoo! I would have thought that Gtalk would have come out with this first. But this is a great move by Yahoo! They will get a lot of subscribers just for this feature. But I anticipate that some of the other IM clients will release something similar soon.

Interesting... may have to try this. My hubby has a BB and a faithful yahoo email user so talking via video chat on Yahoo and my iPhone sounds WONDERFULLY suited for us while on those long trips away from each other.
