I'm buying the 16GB iPhone 3Gs and I need to know if such app exists to communicate via MSN.
How is the iPhones video playback resolution? I have a ton of videos that I would like to copy over. But don't want low res quality.

    Thanks

There is the app jabber that I believe uses iChat to communicate through msn. Not 100% sure on that.

As far as the resolution goes, it's fantastic. 16m really brings out a kick arse picture! I recently copied the HD version of The Fifth Element and it is out of sight! The down side, the iPhone's audio does not handle sound as well as other devices (my experiance), virtually no ambient sound at all. Explosions and loud sounds are muffled or distorted. Have to keep the volume at minimum.

There's no official Microsoft solution. The best are a handful of multi-purpose IM clients that have some level of MSN functionality (many of which are not free). Note that not only are most of them pretty unreliable, but firmware updates seem to wreak havoc on them.

I tried all the free ones and finally spent the $10 for Beejive... it's awesome, has push for all chat platforms and will tie all your chatters into a single application.

AIM, Google, ICQ, Jabber, MSN/Windows Live, Myspace IM, Yahoo, Facebook IM.
