=/ even the Wii can use flash.
Since Steve Jobs himself hates Flash so much, I doubt you'll see it on the iPhone anytime soon. I personally despise Flash, too. I would remove it from my computer if Chromium didn't have that drop down bar telling you an add-on is missing.
but what about all the wonderful streaming video websites??
It isn't really needed on the iPad. The iPad is a pretty old-school device that's designed to serve as a bookreader and web surfer, with space for your pictures and music, maybe some movies. It's designed to be purchased by people who are pretty new to portable devices and want something simple to use that's pretty to look at. They won't care about flash. Jobs' address for the iPad was pretty clear. It's really and iTouch for people with bad eyes lol.
This guy is making things more complicated than they really are. The reason the iPad does not have Flash is because Steve Jobs does not want it. He believes in a future with HTML5 replacing Flash. Unfortunately Flash is pretty ubiquitous these days and he is choosing to ignore a technology that doesn't appear to be going away any time soon. It would be great if we had an iPad that could turn Flash on and off instead of permanently disabling it.
Yeah I think an option is best for a device like the iPad.
I think Apple is leaving flash out of the iPad so that apps can be made that offer services such as Hulu for a price. I am an Apple supporter - Currently have a Macbook, former iPod Touch and iPhone 3G user, but I do not like how they find ways to get more money out of their consumers. It's business and they are not the only ones who do such things, so there is no point in despising them, just choose not to buy their product or service.
NO, Steve hates Flash. That is all that you need to know to answer the question. And as for the next question, " Because Steve Says So" Just the way it is with Apple. As for me I really do not care since HTML 5 is better anyway.
I dont think the issues the article raises are BS at all. How would you do a mouse hover-over on a touchscreen?
And even if Jobs doenst like Flash, its buggy, eats CPU cycles and battery life, and most importantly, if it doesnt work 100% out of the box then Apple wont put it on. Thats why the iphone/ipod is as successful as it is- it just works period.
Right now the iPhone is one of the smoothest running smartphones on the market if not the smoothest. So I'm pretty happy the iPad will keep this trend going in the tablet world and won't have the buggy adobe added to it.
Yeah, if it ain't broke..... The stuff works just fine. Flash? We don't need no steenking flash.
Flash would just destroy the battery. Apple doesn't want that. All of the people complaining about Flash would then start complaining about the bugs and horrible battery life. Adding Flash would do more harm than good.
Flash is garbage. When I use to use Windows, the majority of my system crashes were from flash.
Exactly. I've seen tons of people on Macs complaining about Flash crashing, too.

Yup. If you have a Mac click this link. Flash Crash!
Flash is ****ty software. Adobe even believes themselves when they say flash isn't shipped with known bugs. Adobe claims they don't ship Flash with known crash bugs, user proves they do
Lol, of course it's full of bugs. Adobe is bull****. I can't wait until Flash dies.

Ah men brother. God I hate Flash, though I love PS and DW, I use them every day.
I just can't believe the kind of pull apple has even though in terms of its global personal computer market share is very small.
