My 3G is going on a year old, naked, no scratches on screen.
IMHO the screen protectors are not necessary.
Invisible Shields (Zagg). But, I might look into that anti-glare one, too...
you should go to the apple store and get this: Power Support Anti-Glare Film for 3G
it adds better touch to the screen, keeps it clean and is cleanly removable
Power Support antiglare here as well. Put it on my wifes and my 3gs's. Super easy install and looks great. So much easier to put on than a Zagg or BSE.
I'm getting an iphone today and don't plan on getting the screen protector. I'll be carrying the iphone in my pocket, by itself with the screen facing in. Is there any reason I need a screen protector? I'm more interested in something so the screen won't crack if dropped.
I am using the Steinheil Crystal Clear screen sheild...and I love it.
Power Support anti-glare.
It's the only viable option in my opinion. :)
FAIL!
Olephobicstrobic screen whatever is a joke. Proof 3G screen is much much better than 3GS. Had 3G for nearly a year if not longer.. dropped, kicked all over the place.. screen is perfect.. Have the 3GS what about a week.. SCRATCH.. what a JOKE!
Zagg here I cometh! Don't believe that Olephoby crap!

I just bought the Crystal screen protector from apple and love it. It is crystal clear and no orange peal affect like Zagg and very easy to install. I had the Anti glare from apple before which was great because he left no finger prints or smudges but it just made the screen too blurry.
Garz - I have 2 of the Power Support Crystals as well - and I've been thinking about trying one out vs. the Anti Glare. It's odd - because sometimes I look at the Anti Glare it doesn't bug me at all - and other times it annoys me.
Have you had any experience removing then reapplying the same Power Support film more than once? Does it work well?
I'm assuming the Crystal is pretty easy to wipe clean? Is it a huge smudge/fingerprint magnet?
Thanks.
well if he drops it he can new one Apple iPhone 3G S OEM LCD screen - Cellular Nationwide Network - Cellular Accessories - 3G, Sony, 50 bucs isn't bad...LOL to get 1 for my storm is 100.00.atleast the lcd is less $$ on the iphone compared to my storm :(
Power support crystal. Very nice and the best I've found so far. Never used the anti glare yet but I've heard it's nice also. Check out some reviews on YouTube.

I don't use a protector. I think they are overrated. I like the oleophobic coating for removing oil and I use a microfiber cloth to get rid of stubborn dirt. When they start making protectors with oleophobic coating, I will consider it.
I might spring for an anti-glare protector, but, again, oleophobic coating wins for me.
Also that guy who posted a picture of his scratched iPhone above should have realized that oleophobic coatings are not scratch resistant and were never advertised to be. Every screen can get scratched.
Screen Guarder for iPhone. Purchased two packs from ebay for $3 each. They work really well
I use the dlo screen protector that came with the jacket. I loved the way it felt on my iPod touch and now I'm glad I'm using it on the iPhone.
Power Support Anti-Glare for me too.
The slight lack of clarity is a welcome trade-off for zero smudges!!
I also use the Power Support Anti-Glare. I did try the Power Support Crystal, it was nice but the trade-off for zero smudges is well worth it. Also got a Griffin Graphite Slider that creates zero bubbles with the protector. Very pleased with both!!!
BSE.....on my Ipod Touch
HI all, the folks using the Anti Glare, what do you have your screen brightness set to ?
I have the privacy screen protector purchased from
the Apple store.
It detracts from the beautiful iPhone display but I knew this ahead of time and it suits my needs.
On my itouch I have a BSE. It's great even after 1 year.
I have the Anti-Glare that the AT&T store was selling. I've got an Otterbox over that at work so it's nullified. Also, my screen is set to auto brightness. No issues yet, but it's less than a week old too.
I picked up phantomskinz. For the price you get two and it has less of an orangepeel effect than zagg.
