    it was posted somewhere on the forums i remember seeing a datasheet. It shows you part for part how much each cost. I think the cost was around 100 something. correct me if im wrong.

    R&D is an issue for cost, but then again how many million Iphones were made? You would think after a few million were made the cost would drop dramatically. At that rate I bet the phone cost less than $50.00 to make.

    Of course Apple is raking in the money...they did design, patent, market, and all that for the iPhone. All of the costs money. And that's why the company is doing well right now. Go capitalism!

    I am a machead, but I need a bb for work, other than that, its apple for me. Who cares though, seeing as how ATT pays out around 700 dollars to Apple for every iPhone sold... It was in a news article a few days ago, that is insane, no wonder service plans are so darn expensive.

    Yeah, a lot of the cost, is buying the Apple name. I can't see it truely costing that much to make, but factoring in R&D which Apple is big into, I can see it...
