    If I had an iPhone in the UK and I moved to the USA can I just get an AT&T contract and carry on using the phone (new number etc aside) ??

    Your iPhone would be locked to whatever UK carrier you're on. If you can jailbreak it, you should be able to use it in the US, but most likely only 2G.
