So on the phone with my mom yesterday and she said she could here a horrible echo. I was not using a headset or bluetooth.
I know it has plagued many devices. How many of u have had this problem. And is it something to go to apple and swap devices.

I have never had this issue so far on mine. But to me it sounds more like it was on her end. Or just a problem with the tower you were hitting. If it happens again, then i would consider a trip to apple

O.G.
See if it keeps happening. If it does, I am sure Apple will replace it with no problems.
