I have done the back and forth between the BB and iPhone countless times...and have recently come back from the final jump back from the 9700, and realize that anything less that what I have with the iPhone is a disappointment.

But, I still have a warm place in my heart for BlackBerry...and the 9900 looks interesting with a combo of a larger processor and touch screen mated to what has to be the best hard physical qwerty keypad in existance.

I can't help but wonder...iPhone 5 or BlackBerry 9900? Especially if the iP5 is just going to be an iP4S and only a mild refresh.

Anybody else in this quandry...especially those with an upgrade looming in the next few weeks or month? Any current iPhone 4 users thinking about going back to BlackBerry?

It's a hard decision but for me I may not wait for the iP5 release. I think the 9900 is the closest to what i need in a messaging centric device.

I am more tempted to wait for a QNX phone when my upgrade is available, but I am eager to see the real world user reviews once the 9900 is released and worked in for a month or so. Looks like a great device!

On AT&T the i5 will be available before the 9900.

Hence the issue. It's going to be a hard wait for those of us with upgrades pending this month...or have been available for months to wait through the release of the iP5 for the 9900, since AT&T at least is dragging it's corporate feet publishing a release date.

Some say the 9900 won't drop to AT&T until late Oct. or early Nov.

I'm reading about some earlybird 9900 buyers having issues with their phones already...so it might be a good thing that AT&T is holding out on releasing the 9900 because of some possible glitches, as Crucial Xtreme reported.

I'd rather have a phone that's been tested to be bug-free than have one right away that has issues.

    (But...I still don't like waiting...)

the large screen champs(i5&9860)test first for me.the large screen spoils a lot of folks, they are hesitant to move back onto a smaller screen.but i will be testing all of the newcomers before making my decision.

For me its not the just the hardware anymore. The iOS apps just cannot compete with BB for my needs.

True, I'm always hesitant to jump ship. I have too much money invested in iOS apps to do that. If the 9900 really comes out later than the i5, then I'm going with the i5. The Torch is just something I like for some odd reason.

It would have to be revolutionary vs evolutionary to make me jump ship to an iphone. I "love" my BB way too much.

    Get both

I will be doing that. I can't wait until it's available in the U.S.. Next week for Sprint

After using the 9900, it felt perfect in my hands.

I'll get it as my secondary device if I can weasel my way into getting one for less
than full retail without using an upgrade. But I know for sure I'll be way more excited
about the next iPhone. The 9900 has finally instilled some life and energy into CB
again. Reminds me of the atmosphere when the 9000 dropped.

Well...I just made up my mind. I went down to my friendly Verizon store to put my hands on the new 9930, so I'd know what to expect from the 9900 when it comes (sooner or later) to AT&T...and I am totally disappointed.

Although I love the size and keypad of the 9930, it's almost TOO thin and feels awkward in the hand. And, even though it's supposed to have a real stainless steel band around the body...the whole phone feels plasticky and hollow.

I must admit, the touchscreen is fast...faster going from app to app than the iPhone 4 even and seems easy to negotiate through the OS7.

But...the bottom line is, I have grown accustomed to superior build quality and ergonomic feel of the Apple iPhone.

Looks like I'll be waving bye-bye to BlackBerry once and for all...

I'll give the iPhone this: out of the box, it just works.. The hackery done on it isn't to fix anything broken, per se. Instead, further enhance what's there, already
