At&t 3G seems much faster on my iPhone 4 than my old 3G[S].

    Move over WiMax!

Good to know. I use my WiFi whenever I'm at home so it's always fast there, but when I go out, it's nice to know that things will load up quickly.

Sorry, but, I get the same speeds on my 3GS in DC.

It may render webpages, etc. faster because of the A4 chip and more RAM appearing that its faster.

But there should be no difference between the physical connection speeds with the network between the 3GS and iphone 4.

Sadly Im not experiencing the same. Im averaging 1.6Mbps down with occasional tests at 2Mbps down but my Moto Droid consistently got 2.1MB down here in NE FL. There are some parts of town where I was able to get to 3.1Mbps but that only happened twice.

All I know is that AT&T didn't do anything 3G service wise here lately and the tests were done within a day of each other (3GS to iPhone4), the 4 kills it. I use to get a 2.5 average with the 3GS, regardless iPhone 4 speeds rock!

Maybe that supposed Miami 7.2 3G"+" speed is making it's way up the street..

I know the upload speed here with my iPhone 4 has doubled, it went from .84 mbps to 1.84, the d/l has stayed the same but the upload speed here is just insane .. download is still about 1.43 mbps but this is Cleveland... I assume we'll be the last to get the blazin speed.. we're always last to get everything else lol

Dont feel bad Im right in the heart of downtown Miami right now and only pulling 1.1mb down on supposedly a 7.2 connection.

I have a feeling its all the new iphones out there being tinkered with that were sold today though too because usually Im more about 2mb down

Its definitely the network, not the iphone 4 per say. Youll be getting faster uploads since the iphone 4 does HSUPA, but you must be getting 7.2 where youre at.

    On my 3GS with iOS4:

Are call still being dropped with the new iphone? Its the only reason I haven't switched yet. I have several friends with the 3G and dropping calls is the norm for them.

Mine definitely improve and I know for sure
there wasn't any 3G work around me. And
with the 3GS, I was not even close to
    getting 1000Kbits/s.

My upload still sucks though, but has doubled.
