    I hate the new sounds in 4.2.1

    Period.

    Too long, too piercing, too Sesame Street.

    If some of them were cut by about 5 seconds, they would make manageable SMS sounds.

    But that's not the case.

    They do suck. But I guess that's what people get when they kept complaining that
    they couldn't hear the tones. I'm sticking with tri-tone and whatever else I use when
    I'm jailbroken.

    Cydia is full of SMS sound packages. I think there's even a way to make custom
    tones when jailbroken.

    I would say email is great on the iPhone. I have exchange set up. I get push, folders, calendar, contacts. The only problem I have is notification. BB is way better at that.
