I have my i4 synced to my Dell Studio laptop, with my iTunes account of course, on it. My son has a jailbroken 16GB 3Gs that has a bad speaker and we want to take it back to AT&T for replacement (only a couple of months old). I know we need to put the original OS back on it and do away with the JB before we return it. Since his 3Gs has never been synced with my laptop, how exactly would I go about this? Any help would be appreciated.

I would say use the computer that orginally used to activate his iPhone, you have to have backed up info of that phone before you Jailbroke it on some computer. Or when you sync it with your computer the other option it gives you is "restore" to factory settings/set up as new iPhone. It will erase all contacts, and info that he has. But he'll have to manually put all the info songs/apps back in.
