    Hey my friend is giving me her 1st gen iphone... i want to use it just as an itouch is this possible? thanks!

    You can use it as an iPod, just don't update the OS or do a restore because it won't work until you get a new sim card and activate with AT&T thru iTunes. You can still use WIFI by keeping the phone in airplane mode.

    Yes. You can get them using the App Store over WiFi on the phone itself, or from iTunes on your computer and syncing.
