OK..so, I get a 3Gs to try the iPhone experience. I'm told my gmail account would push to the iPhone
I discover it will only push when I open the email program. Is this the way push works on a 3Gsw/os4?

Not sure if its a OS thing but since my 3gs emails where pushed without the need to open up the email program and the same goes on my I4 now... You are using the stock email app or a third party??
stock program
If you want Gmail push, set it up as an Exchange account. Google the instructions, they're actually on Google's support site. :)
Thanks-I'll give it a go.
If I have a Comcast.net account forwarded to the gmail, will it still forward?
I'm really liking the UI of the iPhone. Just wish email wasn't such a pain in the ***!!
You just have to set it up as an Exchange account, not Gmail when you go to set up the email account in the app.
Hit Exchange, for your username its [email protected], your password, and the server is m.google.com
This will set it up as exchange to push, the Gmail button route does it as IMAP which isnt push.
