I upgraded to 5.0.1 the same day my phone came, so I have no baseline with the iOS5.0 to compare, but I think my numbers look pretty decent.

I have yet to do the full restore or even kill the phone completely.. the lowest I got was down to 13%, but by then, my usage screen only showed dashes and not any numbers So i'm not sure what it looked like.

I've had the phone since Nov 10th.. Should I do a complete batt drain so soon?

Yes, and TG im getting good batt life I know itll be fine, but at least now I have a date as a marginal guide line of when to do my mthly cycle charge. just the technicality of an "exact day" (23rd) it's an OCD thing lol.

I'm guessing a lot of people posting in this thread are recent iPhone converts because these numbers are borderline unacceptable. I have an iPhone 4S and used to have an iPhone 4 on iOS 4 and I got about 1.5x the battery performance on the older generation. Getting 5-6 hours usage plus 15-20 standby out of my iPhone 4S makes me somewhat upset. Not one single time did I have to charge my iPhone 4 midday, in fact I could get multiple days off the charger; now with the 4S there are almost as many days where I need to charge it before the day is even over as there aren't.

Dalton I realize these battery numbers are not the norm or standard of what we expect from apple but I believe what is being done is the ability to look back over time at histories. we can only hope 5.0.2 makes it better

im sorry...but i charge my phone every night when i go to sleep. when i wake up for work my phone has to be at 100% no doubt about that. if u can go DAYS without a charge on an iPhone you speak blasphemy....
