You shouldn't have to do a back up or restore. When you update the OS, it back ups and restores during the process.

I went straight from 3.1.2 to 4.0, so I guess that
may be the reason I never faced slow backups.

Here's a quick question. Everything that updates to the 3Gs...will that be on the new update for the iTouch? All I'm really getting is the new dock, transitions, and the new stuff in the music/ipod app. Is there no app switching and/or multi-tasking?

DISLIKE -
Why can't we lock in lanscape mode? It's the easiest to type in.
Orientation lock for portrait mode only makes no sense to me.

LIKE -
Folders. (I won't ask why this took 3 years )

LIKE - Being able to make playlists on my device, and not just in iTunes.

LIKE - Finally having a zoom for the camera.

Hate that you have to drag one app out at a time from the folder though. I have alot of apps..

Why would you not??? Some of them I didnt like the folder they were in so I had to rearrange them.

I agree, it would be better if you could delete the folder as a whole.

The nice thing is you can do that right on iTunes ... It doesn't have to be on the phone but at the same time same would've been true if it was another device that has folders

When's it's all said and done I think Apple has done a pretty good job with their folder system... How many phones let you see what's in your folders before you open it ??

To open the zoom control (slider), tap the screen 3 times.

I really wish the weather app got updated.

Even if it would just give the current temperature without needing to be launched.

Just like how the calender app shows the current date without needing to be launched.

is it just me or it doesnt really multitask.. only pandora does. other apps just start over when switching from one app to another. can someone please show me the light

Me and some friends are literally talking about this same issue right now. It doesn't seem like multi-tasking at all just a more convenient way to switch between apps. Now I'm not sure if that's an Apple problem. It seems like more of a developer problem that they need to fix within their applications.

The apps probably have not been updated to take advantage of the new API's that Apple released to developers.
