legitimate iphone 5 leak? could this be it?

The link shows images of an apparent iphone 5 smuggled out of the factory and seems pretty believable. If this is what the next iphone is then I'm definitely waiting for blackberry 10, the same form factor as the iphone 4/4S with a longer screen, microusb port and a moved headphone jack? Yes I know people will buy/upgrade regardless because its the glorified "iphone" but cmon, if that's all the upgrade is its going to dissapoint even more then the iphone 4S upgrade. What is everyones thoughts? That is under the assumption that this is the new iphone (only an assumption!)

The 4s that broke sales records for Apple? The 4s that has helped the comment to increase gross margins - I wouldn't buy an iphone myself but by any objective measure it's a complete success for the company. RIM would give anything for such a 'disappointment'.

You obviously don't understand what I mean by dissapointment.. Type into google "iphone 4S dissapoints" and you'll see what I'm talking about. We all know people will buy a newly released iphone dissapointment or not, a dissapointment doesn't mean no sales, its just slack to loyal customers.

Compared to the drastic changes between the 9000-9900, or 8520-9360.

You're trying to make an issue out of something that isn't an issue, it'll sell 30+ million per quarter simply because it's a good, proven device. Only a handful care how different it is from the last device. Actually, the dock connector is a drastic difference, so much so that people here think its too different. The anti-apple crowd seems to want it both ways, complain about the changes AND the things that stay the same.

Bb10 will be interesting but at the moment it's 7 months away.

Not sure what you're trying to prove with this.

If someone used search terms such as 'I hate Android' 'Web OS blows' 'Windows Mobile is lame' or 'BB sucks' there would be no shortage of hits.

Not sure what you're expecting. The slate form factor is pretty much one of two dominant form factors for smartphones, the other being the ones with keyboards like most Blackberries. Oh wait, I forgot the slider and the flip form factors, like a couple of other Blackberries. If you were expecting Apple to make some other form factor, then I would say that was not going to happen. I think pretty much everybody knew it was going to be a slate phone.

The only real questions were the size and perhaps a switch to a new dock connector, and it seems those things are going to change. The movement of the headphone jack to the bottom was a bit of a surprise, but one I like. Since I prefer to keep my phone in the upside-down position in my pants pocket, it's easier with the headphone jack on the bottom of the phone.

Additionally, the SoC is expected to be upgraded to at minimum the same A5X on the new iPad (1 Ghz dual core with better GPU), or a new A6 quad core. There will also be a die shrink so expect 28 or 32 nanometer, hopefully 28nm, which will decrease power consumption. It's also expected to support LTE and the screen is expected to be thinner. Obviously, as important as these changes are, they don't really require any changes to the form factor.

Finally, there will be changes to iOS. Increased versatility with Siri and a bunch of other things. The one I'm most looking forward to though, is iTunes Match streaming. I no longer have to store music on my iPhone, just stream it from iTunes Match.

I think given all that, most would agree that the upgrade to iPhone 5 (or whatever it's name is going to be) is a significantly larger upgrade than from iPhone 4 to iPhone 4S.

Honestly though, did you expect? That they'd stick a coffeemaker on it?

I will admit, that after owning both the 4 and 4S, I am ready for a different design. If all Apple does is elongate the 4S, I'll be mildly considering the Galaxy s3. Or I'll just slap ios6 on this 4S and wait till next year. This new iPhone release has been touted as the most secretive yet, so don't be surprised if what's actually released resembles NONE of the leaks.

Well, one of the rumors is that the back is made of Liquidmetal, which is supposed to be smooth as glass, but strong as, well, metal. It's also much more resistant to scratching than other metals typically used for consumer electronics. They wanted to make the new iPhone thin as possible, probably to put in a bigger battery to support LTE, I'm guessing this was one route to that end, along with building the touchscreen hardware onto the screen.

I've seen that too. I could live with something along those lines. I think the 4/4S is a beautiful design, I'm just ready for a change.
