Apple failed to sue the SGS3 prior to the release of their own device release. The OS6 shows that nothing they have out at the moment is doing anything new for fans to clamor about. Other phones have caught up, from the Galaxy S3 of course, BB10, Windows 8 phones are getting there.

I mean in terms of apps, market share, and perception shifting away from Apple and starting to balance and spread to other phones.

iPhone rose in prominence when there was nothing else like it. The aesthetics, the explosion of reliance on apps, the huge consumption of content. Android came out of nowhere and flooded the market because, as a platform, it would be used by different manufacturers. Unlike the iPhone, unlike RIM, unlike Symbian.
While the growth of Android seems to continue unabated, this will not signal the demise of the iPhone in the near future, not by any stretch of the imagination.
To use an analogy, the Beatles are to the iPhone what the Rolling Stones are to Android, a polished, innovative and fully mass embraced OS as opposed to a rebellious, in your face, gritty and much sexier no rules competitor.
Don't write off the iPhone so incredibly prematurely. It's still plenty of time left before it finally falters.

Not to mention the obvious but the galaxy s3 isn't on sale until June 21, BB10 isn't due until later this year and Windows 8 phones aren't on the market either. How exactly have these "caught up"?

Not to mention the poll is about yet another UNRELEASED device!!!!! AND THE OP's OWN PERSONAL DEVICE (according to it's profile) IS ANOTHER UNRELEASED DEVICE..... OMFG

It actually got moved here, I guess I will ask for it to be moved over there...and um for you Xandermac the future is now....that is how companies think what is wrong with thinking forward?

And other devices have caught up, you only need to read about what they will have. Their development cycle is nearly over and it is more about fine tuning and getting them produced in mass quantities. Anyway, what do iphones do now that you really can't do on other phones just as good or better? That is what it has come to.

So to answer you dragon lady, what makes the iphone so unique to those who know and don't know....what makes it blow other phones out of the water? what makes it so polished?

    Hahaha! Love the comparison!

Now, to take it a step further.
Would BlackBerry be Pat Boone, Paul Anka or Elvis?
