I'm so happy with my Z10. They can all keep smashing iPhones either intentionally or accidentally. I don't care. Take good care of your BlackBerry devices, they are tools, not toys. BlackBerry FTW!

You can always be unlucky with any phone in terms of the angle it hits the ground - sometimes they survive, sometimes not. Bit disconcerting that both suffered such major damage though. We'll have to see if that's a particular issue going forward.

    (bloody expensive test).

No matter what angle you drop the Z10, the screen is protected, until the bezel gives up

Until the screen breaks and it renders the phone unusable.

My Z10 survived all sorts of drops from a football toss by my then two year old, to many drops by me from tables and my truck, to the final side swipe from a pony wall (from that same two year old) that ended my good luck. In fact that one not one shattered my screen but cracked my Incipio feather light case near the camera. That being said, $51 later working like a charm with a new screen.

Don't they both have a "shatter proof" new technology some sort of space glass?

Anyone have the Z10 video of it being run over by a pickup truck and it was hardly damaged?

Fair enough, but during normal use, with the occasional drops, I've yet to see one broken Z10 screen, whereas I have seen a couple of broken Z30 screens, of which the later doesn't have the protective bezel..

Excellent video and just what I would expect to see. I don't think there is a phone out yet that would pass those tests. What ever happened to that "unbreakable" sapphire screen? Guess that was just rumors huh.

My Z10 passed that drop test numerous times all over the streets of Manhattan. My Z30 with a Screen protector actually passed a similar test just 2 weeks ago. I had pulled it out of the case, because I wanted to program an NFC tag, it hit the wet street outside Grand Central and I thought it was history. Maybe the screen protector helped, but it wasn't an invisible shield or any thing similar.
