2048x1536 on a consumer 10" tablet?... a myth until it gets there or is officially announced.

They will need quite a good gpu to even render graphic intensive apps at that resolution, or even the UI lol.

totally agree. it just can't, and it's not like RIM's doing much to help their situation right now.

got mine on day 2, loved it at first (form factor, screen, OS), and have been hating it more and more with every passing day. now the latest update breaks the already pathetic Adobe Reader app? 800$ device to surf the net (WHEN sites load all the way, which is 1 times out of three) and view porn vids in the bathroom? pret-ty expensive for what it is.

Apple won't release another iPad this year, I would bet my "manhood" on it, but the moment they do release one with a higher res display, I'm going straight back to them because RIM TOTALLY failed to deliver with the PB. great potential, but the end result is severely lacking.

and to all those hardcore defenders out there who are like "you have to be patient.. things will come end of summer...", excuse me but NO. at the price they're selling this, it should be full-featured from day one.

for the record, I'm as critical of Nintendo releasing the 3DS with sh!t software and without its eShop back in March, and Motorola releasing the XOOM without full Flash support and SD card functionality. This is a disturbing new trend in electronics and I really hope it's not one that's there to stay. Because if it is, how about I give you half the MSRP now and the other half when you actually deliver what the product is supposed to do? How would companies feel about THAT?

That gpu will burn out at that resolution :x not to mention the technology and price behind it is atrocious. Otherwise we would have 17~20" computer monitors with that resolution for 200$. 2048x1536 is quite high for a tablet of that size, graphics will have to be very conservative, plus they will have to be very smart to retain a good battery life.

As an early PB owner, from day of release, I was fully aware that this new product would not have an app or native program like the two year old iPad.

The functions that I purchased the PB for WORK GREAT among which are
bridge email, tether browser and internet access without paying any additional network charges (I have an unlimited BB internet plan)
Flash works fabulous; I just started to use the free on line flash based Adobe photoshop.

There is no going back. I already have orders from my wife and daughter to a PB for each of them.

QNX is the next leap forward and I congratulate RIM on their leap of imagination.

Retina on an iPhone makes sense.

Retina on an iPad is just dumb.

You sound like the guy from that new movie "Call me when LeBron has 6 championships.” “IS THAT YOUR ONLY ARGUMENT?!” “IT'S THE ONLY ARGUMENT I NEED"

It's like a broken record argument now; from Android too. ONE feature makes not a great device. If that's all you can argue then it's a pretty poor argument for a better all-over better product.

In response to that I say name one glaring thing without thinking: call me when I can open a native email or calendar contact without a tethered BB!

    Okay okay calm down.

We will call you. Give me your number. If you live in the US, I promise I'll call you. When the iPad gets flash, you can call me. Deal?

You can do it right now, by bridging with a free app. No tethering required.
With native email, you would be forced to pay tethering charges if you can't be on wifi all the time, which is pretty unlikely.

Which still sucks for people who don't have a BB. If ALL those other people aren't RIMs target audience then I guess bridge is perfect. Isn't going to help them grow, but whatever works. Wait *checking stocks & reviews* ok, maybe that isn't working....
