Will the iPhone work with the Verizon network? I have a BB 8330:confused:
No. VZW is CDMA and there is not VZW CDMA compatible iPhones out.
Short and simple
NO
The only other network the iPhone will work on in the USA is TMO.
The only time the iPhone will work with Verizon is if they adopt the same HSPA network Bell and Telus did. To date no announcements from Verizon that they will ever make the leap, so NO no iPhone for Verizon.
The iPhone 3GS will not work on Verizon. The iPhone LTE will ;)
ZOMGWTFBBQ an LTE iPhone? not happening any time soon. maybe in like 3 years when LTE is the standard.
Except that these are on backorder for the next few years, and the supporting LTE networks are rather limited in coverage.
There is a way (kinda). Click the link for the CNET video and article showing you how. Basically, if you get a Verizon Wireless MiFi (Portable MiFI hotspot), you can then use all the data features of the iPhone on the Verizon network. I also believe that you may be able to make limited phone calls with Skype. This will be costly with a $40-60 monthly fee for the Mifi plus whatever you pay for a non-contract iPhone on ebay, craigslist, etc... You could do the same thing with an iPod touch but lose a few features like microphone and compass. Obviously this is not the ideal solution but it is a way to get it to work.
